Charabot began as a perfumery house established by Jean-Joseph Hugues in 1799 whose legacy was carried on to 1860 when his grandson developed a direct steam distillation process for natural raw materials. The “Charabot” name was give to the company when a prominent chemist, Dr. Eugene Charabot, joined the Hugues family. Since 1917, the company was known as Charabot.

The tradition of using the finest natural raw material in accompanied with the company’s knowledge in traditional ingredients from local origin and further abroad. Caharabot has direct control over the sources of raw material through joint ventures, partnership and direct investment in the raw material country of origins. This guarantees constant quality and supply, showing Caharabot’s strong point in the industry. As for production process, Charabot has implemented an automated and computerized raw material processing to ensure total and validity commitment to customers. This sustained investments has scored Charabot the prestigious ISO- 9001 certification.

Charabot berawal dari sebuah rumah parfum yang didirikan oleh Jean-Joseph Hugues di tahun 1799 yang kemudian diwariskan hingga tahun 1860 kepada cucunya yang mengembangkan mesin distilasi langsung dari bahan-bahan alami. Nama “Charabot” diberikan kepada perusahaan ketika seorang ahli kimia terkenal, Dr. Eugene Charabot bergabung bersama keluarga Hugues. Dan sejak tahun 1917 hingga hari ini perusahaan dikenal dengan nama Charabot.

Tradisi untuk menggunakan bahan-bahan alami terbaik berawal dari pengetahuan Charabot mengenai bahan-bahan tradisional dari daerah setempat maupun luar negeri.
